Trip Journal - Percy's Place Caravan Park - Pitt Town, NSW - October 2020

What are the chances we get a stunning October long weekend, and I have to work the whole time..? Very high actually! But this weekend we were asked to work at one of my favorite little parks right on the Hawkesbury River - Percy's Place Caravan Park.

Percy’s Place Caravan Park is set on a 110 acre property with 2.3km of river frontage. Located on the Hawkesbury River, it is an idyllic setting which is close to Sydney but feels a million miles away. With all facilities nearby it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy all the Hawkesbury and surrounding areas have to offer.

The gorgeous Hawkesbury River

Arriving early in the morning is always a treat as the drive out there winds through some very pretty Australian history before ending at the Caravan Park. The river provided plenty of stunning fog cover for the cows as they wandered around their paddock in the early morning sun. You can check out the video I made of the trip below!

The Caravan Park features plenty of powered sites plus a dedicated tent camping area (closed during COVID). The camp kitchen has a television with an enormous selection of DVD's to keep the kids/grandkids happy too! The real gem here is the amazing water frontage that loops around the park giving you wrap around views of the amazing Hawkesbury river. This park is popular with families and water skiers with plenty of quiet caravaners also happy up on the hill. It includes private river access for boats.

Percy's Place is a fabulous place to take the family if you are looking for a quiet get-away that is still so close to Sydney! It is always a lovely place to spend the morning making coffee for Hills Daily Grind and I hope we can head back there over the summer!

Pitt Town and the surrounding areas are full of historical buildings and other sites of interest that hark back to the days of some of the earliest Australian Settlers. You can still find little country post offices and heritage-listed pubs locally that are worth a visit. Hopefully, I'll see you out there soon!
